This week’s harvest includes: 

Chard, Carrots, Cucumbers (green slicing as well as Salt & Pepper minis), Eggplant (three varieties), Green Beans, Lettuce (green or red), Curly Kale, Okra, Peppers (Bell, Padrone, Hungarian Wax, Anaheim, Banana & Jalapeno), Potatoes (red and yukon gold), Salad Mix, Scallions, Summer Squash (Yellow, Green, and White!), Sunflower Bouquets (straight), Tomatoes…and Eggs and Tomato Transplants (it’s not too late to plant!).

We will be at to the South of the James market  and Brandermill Green Market this weekend and every weekend this season until they close. Market Share CSA members may place an order for pick up at the farm, SOJ or BGM market, or simply show up at our booth to spend your credit

We’re Hiring!

Two of our amazing Farm Hands have gotten full-time volunteer/community service positions in New England and are leaving us very soon! Plus we are in need of office help and a babysitter. We are currently looking to fill the following positions:

– Full time Fall Intern: Immersion into all aspects of small-scale, organic vegetable and flower production. Monday – Friday, 8 hours per day. Hours may depend on weather. Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds. August 15th – November 15th.
– Part Time Field Worker: Participate in all aspects of production and harvest of organic vegetables and flowers. Three or Four days per week, 8 hours per day.  August 1st – November 15th.
– Part time Bookkeeper: Experience with Quickbooks and fund accounting required to work approximately 3 hours every two weeks at our home/farm office recording receipts. Expect to start: September.
– Monday Babysitter: We’re looking for a qualified candidate to mind our three children, here on the farm and in our TV-free home, during traditional work hours on Mondays. Compensation in cash and/or vegetables!
