Farm and Market Shares for 9/18

Available for Market Share CSA Members to order for delivery on 9/18: 

Our Farm Share Bag (consisting of the items in the Farm Share this week, in one easy to order option), Arugula, Basil, Chard, Cilantro, Collards, Eggplant, Frisee, Garlic, Green Beans, Hearty Mix, Lettuce (green and red), Kale (three types), Okra, Pac Choi, Peppers (Sweet Banana, Bell, Padrone, Hungarian Wax, Anaheim, & Jalapeno), Onions (white), Radishes (two types), Sesame Leaf, Turnips (Hakurei)…and our Garlic Loaf (Naturally Leavened, Hearth Baked Bread).

Farm Share CSA Members – This week’s share consists of: 

Onions OR Collards (your choice), Bunched Asian Greens (use like Kale, Spinach, or Collards. Technically this variety is called Komatsuna), Okra OR Peppers (your choice), Hearty Mix (great raw or in saute), Arugula, Garlic, Salad Mix, Head of Lettuce, and Tomatoes.

Recipe Suggestions: 

Roasted Garlic – spread it on a toasted slice of bread

Braised Collard Greens by Martha Stewart (regardless of your opinions about this woman, you have to admit her recipes are good)

Frisee Salad with Pistachios and Cranberries…also by Martha

Tahini Soy Sauce Greens

And for your Salad….Lemon Parmesan Salad Dressing (also by Martha, recipe source du jour, apparently)

**CSA Potluck Save the date: Saturday, Sept 28, 5:30. Bring a dish to share and we’ll eat together surrounded by beds of vegetables. RSVP to Evite.

** Public Farm Tour: Saturday, Sept 28, 4:00. Enjoy a walk around our farm with us as we describe our methods and why it’s important to grow diverse, organic vegetables on a small scale. No Fee, Family Friendly. Please – no pets.
