CSA Shares for 9.23.2015

This week’s Farm Share (Week 21!) will most likely include:
Arugula, Salad Mix, Head of Lettuce, Sweet Turnips, Kale, Tomatoes, Summer Squash, Garlic, Jalapenos (if you would like them), and Beets (on farm) OR Radish (Church Hill)

Recipe Suggestions: see these and others cataloged on our Recipe Page
Arugula, Pear, & Pancetta Salad
Salad – with Candied Pecans and Maple Balsamic Dressing
Glazed Hakurei Turnips – The white roots in this week’s share are sweet and delicious Hakurei Turnips. You may remember them from the spring shares. We prefer them raw, roasted, or glazed. Also try Miso Glazed Turnips.
Kale with Ramen Noodles – you can substitute out ingredients to tailor this to your liking
Falafel with Kale – Mix Kale (or any green) into Falafel
Summer Squash Muffins – If you can resist grilling the squash, bake it into muffins (or a bread loaf pan, or call it cake…). This recipe calls for Zucchini but you can use any summer squash.

Available for Market Share CSA members to choose from this week:
Chard, Collards, Eggplant, Garlic, Kale, Lettuce, Okra, Peppers, Radish, Salad, Tomatoes…and our Organic, Naturally Leavened Bread.

2015 Market Share CSA Members: Reserve your selection online to pick up on Wednesday, September 23 at our farm, Good Health Herbs (New Location! Pick up hours are from 2:00 – 6:00), or in Church Hill.
(Please bear with us as we find the hours that work for pick-up at Good Health Herbs this fall…a changing farm business schedule requires tweaking this delivery.)

Enjoy ~
Janet, Dan, and the rest of the Broadfork crew
