The Value of Help & Market List for 8/11

A lot of folks look at our market tables, or come to the farm to pick something up, and ask “Do you do all this by yourselves??” The answer, my friends, is No. Thankfully, we get this food to people’s kitchens with help from of a lot of others. We have a number of wonderful work-trade folks that put in a ton of time planting, weeding, battling bugs, harvesting, washing produce, and packing up for market.

We have community members team up for delivery sites. We have grandparents that do everything from keeping the kids to closing the deer fence gate when we are returning home later than expected. We have helpers at our market booths.

(Thank goodness, since sometimes our youngest really needs to be like this.)

We have friends with lovely talents that chip in for things like gorgeous photos of our produce and booth. (All photo credits from this post go to Teresa Ann Photography. Thank you!)

We are so thankful for all the help we get. It makes the experience richer for all of us.

For market this weekend, we have harvested:

Bell Peppers (purple and green), Cucumbers, Rosa Bianca Eggplant,  Black Beauty Eggplant, Green Beans, Jalapeno peppers,  Malabar Spinach, Okra, Onions, Perpetual Spinach, Summer Squash, Heirloom, Hybrid, and Cherry Tomatoes…and Eggs and Sunflower Bouquets.
