The snow feels like old news now, but underneath it lay promise.
We think winter might really be behind us now. And thus begins another season of my love affair with greens.
And homemade salad dressing.
Our new favorite: Fig Balsamic Vinaigrette. Please make it this weekend. You need to experience how good it is. (It uses Fig Jam, not real figs, as they are not in season yet.) We’ve been enjoying it a few ways: ::Warm tossed with our Hearty Mix and/or Kale – prepare it about 30 minutes before your meal so that the leaves can wilt a bit. ::Cold, over tender salad greens :: With walnuts and shredded Asiago cheese on top ::With bacon and hard-boiled egg on top
This week’s harvest includes:
Baby Kale, Cilantro, Daffodil Bouquets, Eggs, Garlic Scallions, Hearty Mix, Red Head Lettuce…plus Multigrain Bread, Pepper Jelly (mild, medium, and hot), and Transplants for your Garden.
We will be returning to the South of the James market this weekend!
