Pass the Dressing, Please (& Orders & Market)

The snow feels like old news now, but underneath it lay promise.

We think winter might really be behind us now.  And thus begins another season of my love affair with greens.

And homemade salad dressing.

Our new favorite: Fig Balsamic Vinaigrette. Please make it this weekend. You need to experience how good it is. (It uses Fig Jam, not real figs, as they are not in season yet.) We’ve been enjoying it a few ways: ::Warm tossed with our Hearty Mix and/or Kale – prepare it about 30 minutes before your meal so that the leaves can wilt a bit. ::Cold, over tender salad greens :: With walnuts and shredded Asiago cheese on top  ::With bacon and hard-boiled egg on top

This week’s harvest includes:

Baby Kale, Cilantro, Daffodil Bouquets, Eggs, Garlic Scallions, Hearty Mix, Red Head Lettuce…plus Multigrain Bread, Pepper Jelly (mild, medium, and hot), and Transplants for your Garden.

We will be returning to the South of the James market this weekend! Market Share CSA members may place an order for pick up at the SOJ Market (in addition to the Brandermill/Good Health Herbs pick up option), or simply show up at our booth to spend your credit. If you wish to order, choose your selection through our Online Store!

– Enter our store here. (If you want to set/reset your password, click on ‘set password’ in the left margin)

– Please remember to click on “Complete Checkout” after you have put items in your cart and chosen your pick up location. If you don’t receive a confirmation email, you did not complete your order.

– For complete details on how our sign-up and order system works, see the Feb 18th newsletter. We will be closing CSA sign-up for the season very soon. Thank you to our amazing members for signing on with us!  And as in the past, the general public is always welcome to purchase our goods at our market booths this season.
