Rain, Happy Plants, & Happy Farmers

108

There is a lot of stuff around here soaking up the rain this week. The greens are much happier. And luckily there are an astonishing (to us) amount of fruits that are still producing thanks to all the recent heat and sun.

In addition to the abundance of salad greens, cooking greens, arugula, spinach, turnips, etc, we have some black radishes available this week. Check out this wild root: 099

Some new lettuce varieties aren’t quite ready yet, but they are stunning:

Most of our greens are super versatile. You can enjoy them raw, cooked, juiced, or as a smoothie. Above is our Hearty Mix blended with coconut milk, a chunk of ginger, a frozen banana, and that’s it. Simply, nutritious, and tasty. Give it a go.

This week’s harvest includes:

Our Farm Share Bag (consisting of the items in the Farm Share this week, in one easy to order option), Arugula, Asian Greens (Pac/Bok Choi, Komatsuna, Yukina Savoy), Basil, Broccoli, Chard, Chinese Cabbage, Cilantro, Collards, Eggplant, Escarole, Endive, Frisee, Garlic, Hearty Mix, Kale (three types), Kohlrabi, Lettuce, Okra, Peppers (Bell, Padrone, Hungarian Wax, Anaheim, & Jalapeno), Radishes, Salad Mix, Spinach, Shiitake Mushrooms, Turnips (Hakurei) …plus Naturally Leavened, Hearth Baked Bread.
