With winter now safely (?) behind us, we are reminded why we love growing vegetables in Virginia: Mid-March and we are surrounded by baby plants, even if it is a bit later this year than usual.
A whole lot of this……has led to a couple of greenhouses full of this:
We get glimpses from time to time that the fields are going to dry out enough to let us work them. Meanwhile, we get rid of some weeds with flame.
The front/pick-up area/farm stand section of our barn is working its way toward completion, aided greatly by our wonderful fathers (pictured below). We’ll have this wrapped up in time for our Farm Share CSA pick up season that begins May 6th. CSA sign up is still going on! Visit our CSA page to learn more and sign up.
We had the good fortune of having the public television show Virginia Farming visit us for an interview last week. We are set to air on the show this coming Friday. You can view online or watch on WCVE next Sunday morning at 8:30.
Reminder: Our next Farm Tour is Saturday, May 9th at 2:30. Our Plant Sale is also that afternoon, from 1:00 – 5:00, where you can shop from our full selection of transplants for your garden. Please plan to join us, and spread the word!
