It’s not quite cold enough for the puddles to freeze, so the resident duck (named Fussy by our friends who “donated” her to us when they had to move out of state) remains quite happy.

House construction continues (unrelated to our farming – other than that it gets in the way of anyone trying to visit these days), and the auger begins digging work this weekend for the pillars/supports for our new pole barn.

We started seeding tomatoes this week. Bless these little seeds and hope for abundant fruits this summer! (Okay – this isn’t actually planting – it is seeding. But it sounded fun to say we were planting them in the snow.)

We are taking a short break from delivering orders on Wednesdays while winter settles in deeply and our plants are less abundant. The Farm Stand will continue to be open daily, stocked with what we have to offer.

This Week’s Harvest:
Carrots, Lettuce (red and green), Radish (sweet giant), and Salad Mix…plus Pepper Jelly, and our Naturally Leavened, Hearth Baked Bread.
